Judging. Each battle group is evaluated by three judges: two experts + one “people’s judge.”
Judges’ decisions are final (no appeals).
Costumes: optional and not a judging criterion.
Format and structureA battle is not a classical competition but a contest built on mutual respect between all participants: partners, opponents, judges and audience.
Dances take place in turns or “pair vs pair.” Between 5–8 couples dance non-stop for a fixed time.
Couples dance in sequence: pair #1 vs #2 in one sector, #3 vs #4 in another, etc.
There are 4 sectors in the initial stage.
Semifinal: 2 sectors.
Final: two couples in one sector.
In the final, couples dance a full musical track.
Each couple performs one entry — approx. 1 minute of meaningful dance with a complete idea.
Participants must follow the order and cannot start out of turn.
The winner is the pair chosen by the majority of judges (by raising hands).
Judging criteria- Judges evaluate: technique, clarity, musicality, artistry, composition, dynamics.
- Participants must follow judges’ decisions and maintain appropriate conduct.
Evaluation criteria- Respect: partner, opponents, judges, audience, oneself.
- Logic & idea: the dance must have a clear and completed concept.
- Dynamics + “punches” (highlights): overall energy and expressive accents.

- Dialogue with opponents: any form of communication without physical contact.
- Dramaturgy: character and story development, not just technique.
- References: allusions to tango culture and classic elements.
